A Magical Celestial Inspired Winter Wedding

Nestled between Christmas and the New Year, B & D's wedding at The Granary Estates was a magical winter celebration. The barn was filled with fresh foliage and fairy lights and the couple opted for a celestial twist on the classic winter theme.

When we first met with B & D they had a number of beautiful ideas for the day and wanted some help bringing them to life. They wanted the day to be romantic and wintery but without it screaming of Christmas. They loved candles, and fairy lights and wanted the barn to be filled with foliage. That's where we stepped in, we worked with them to help pull together their ideas and bring their own unique vision to life.

The result was an incredible celebration complete with a s'mores station, sparkler exit and a personalised leather jacket. The day was effortlessly cool and suited the couple and venue perfectly. Every little detail had been thought of and the day had such a cohesive style.

Flowers & Style

When designing B's flowers, she wanted the design to be foliage heavy, with hints of burgundy and purple, and loved thistles. Following our meeting, we created a bespoke floral proposal for the day. For the bouquets we opted for a design which contained a mixture of different seasonal foliage including eucalyptus and parve, with pops of colour through the thistles and also hypericum berries to create texture and depth. For B's bouquet, we then added more florals to help add detail to hers and make it stand out. For the buttonholes, we picked out complimentary colours in the men’s suits, and included thistles and hints of burgundy with the ribbon.

We styled areas throughout the venue with seasonal foliage, including the table plan and card table. The dark green foliage complimented the moody stationary perfectly and softened the look. B chose one of our Persian rugs for the top of the aisle, helping to create a bohemian look and soften the Flint Barn. We used candles and fairy lights to create soft light and a cosy atmosphere, perfect for the time of year.

Catering

When choosing the menu, they couple wanted it to be personal to them and so we worked together to design a bespoke menu. For the main course, they opted for a family favourite sausage and mash, and we were able to use D’s favourite sausages, sourced locally from Johnsons of Old Hurst to ensure the dish was perfect! For dessert, they had a sharing board for guests to choose their favourite, the boards were styled with edible flowers and macaroons, which looked almost too good to eat!
