Commercial Christmas Installation at Country Estate, Burghley House

Returning to work with the wonderful events team at Burghley House last November was a definite highlight of our seasonal installations schedule! Building on our 2023 installations our team grew to a squad of 8 seasonal decorators, primed to illuminate, bauble and bring Christmas magic to every corner of the Burghley House Christmas Fair 2024.

Held over 4 days at the end of November each year the event attracts over 20,000 visitors and luxury stalls and traders from all over the UK. With areas including the luxury shopping marquee, rows of outdoor alpine chalets and a historic stable courtyard packed with countless food and drink options the event always promises a wonderfully festive atmosphere and for many in the region marks the start of the Christmas season.

Large Scale Christmas Arch Installations

After the great visitor feedback from the 5 meter fresh marquee archway, the largest our team had created to date, this year the client requested two matching entrances. With the new renovations for the estate and additional visitor entrances, the Christmas Fair was larger than ever before and so our festive styling grew to spread the Christmas magic across the wider event.

Built on a base of pipe and drape, an adaptable framework used for many of our custom builds and installs the arches were then constructed with a variety of fresh seasonal foliage such as blue spruce, Nordman fir, cypress, eucalyptus robusta and pinus strobus to create a natural and luxury greenery arch. Lit with 3000 lights each and adorned with baubles, stars and pine cones the entrances welcomed visitors to the luxury shopping marquee from each direction and added to the high end, luxury style of the event and its vendors.

Christmas Retail Space Decorations

As visitors made their way through the luxury shopping marquee, the Christmas décor continued to create the perfect Christmas atmosphere. At each end of the space giant 1.5 meter decorated wreaths hung high above the stalls, with smaller co-ordinating ceiling wreaths interspersed through the space including hanging bauble clusters at alternating heights to reflect the light of the surrounding fairy lights and chandeliers.

Festive Café Entrance Installation

Another new addition to the Christmas fair this year was the expansion of the garden café’s outdoor dining space with a stretch tent covering to create a cosy winter patio. Our team enhanced this entrance space with a fresh foliage arch garland, decorated with a central cluster of baubles and matching the all-gold colour scheme. To each side, our team also added coordinating 3ft fresh Christmas trees lit with soft white lights and decorated with outdoor baubles and natural pinecones.

Luxury Christmas Tree Decorations

Also returning for a second year was our giant 10ft real-look faux Christmas tree adorning the entrance space of the marquee at the main house end. In this year's new colour scheme of all gold, our team of creative decorators added luxury garlands for depth and shape before filling it with an abundance of baubles in a variety of gold tones and shapes, stars in natural materials and luxury glass decorations.

Christmas Event Entrance Installations

As the first welcome to visitors of the event, the 3 wooden ticket chalets couldn’t be left without a sprinkle of festive flair. Our team constructed and designed 3x 3.5 meter long garlands with a variety of gold decorations and natural elements to coordinate with the rest of the event scheme. The garlands were hung along the front roof line of the chalets, giving them a festive touch without impacting the functionality of the structures.

Festive Photo Engagement Installations

The undoubtedly most photographed element of our team's work at the fair in 2022 had to be the giant freestanding wreath for guests to create the perfect winter family photos. With 100’s of families snapping group shots in front of the giant wreath complete with a custom Burghley House Christmas Fair neon sign the installation was a great opportunity for visitors and created a lot of online engagement with the event and its hashtag as guests shared their images over the 4 days and through the Christmas season.

As visitors look for ever new and exciting festive experiences, building opportunities for them to interact and engage with your event is essential. Investing in a designated space for your visitors to interact with your event and brand and share on their social media is a highly effective way to get the message out and make your event a destination event for future years.

On the success of the 2022 giant wreath, our team created another in the same location to perfectly frame the iconic Burghley House roofline within the wreath and in this year's luxury all-gold colour scheme. At the other end of the fair, and welcoming guests from the newly opened car park and woodland adventure entrance our team of festive elves also created a co-ordinating garden swing seat. Placed perfectly in front of the famous Burghley Garden of Surprise (closed for the winter season), the garden swing seat perfectly matched its surroundings and gave guests an additional opportunity to create and share memories.
