Home Entertaining with Local Cambridgeshire Bloggers hosted by Hall & Co. Event Design
Spring is near and we cannot wait for the winter blues to be gone and the flowers to bloom. In light of spring fast approaching, we hosted an intimate blogger event with four local bloggers Chloe Jo Bletsoe, Sophie Hearts, Sophie Kate & Pina to promote our new Easter Dinner Service launching next month. Let's recap yesterday...
The day began with a cocktail class by Kerry, our lovely event manager slash mixologist. The ladies made two cucumber & elderflower drinks, one a non-alcoholic spritz and another a crisp gimlet, before a break with our antipasti grazing box.
The antipasti grazing box given to the bloggers to munch on during an interval before flower arranging with our in house florists went down a storm. We introduced the grazing box service that will launch in our sister business, Little Acre Kitchen this Spring for those picnic days down by the river.
Keep in touch with Little Acre Kitchen for more information on the variety of boxes available.
After a little graze, the girls began a simple & effective flower arranging workshop with our in-house florists, Meadow and Bloom & Wonder in the Wild. Here they created beautiful bouquets with the likes of ginster, ranunculus, eucalyptus, wax flower and avalanche adore roses to mention a few.
Next came the food...
Our head chef and boss man Dom, has created a beautifully delicious Easter menu as part of the pick-up dinner service.
With a few chosen items off the Easter menu including an Earl Grey brined free range garlic & lemon chicken stuffed with lemons & sage, Moroccan spiced Suffolk lamb shoulder with a honey and rosemary glaze with a mint caper & red onion salsa, Maple pecan roasted root vegetables, cranberry & orange port braised red cabbage, garlic shallot buttered seasonal greens with crispy shallot, Yorkshire puddings, Johnson's farm house sausage stuffing with apricots, chestnuts & sage, Maris piper roast potatoes with duck fat and Applewood cheddar & confit garlic mashed potatoes Paired with either red wine gravy, shallot & thyme sauce or bread sauce.
Post main food coma, we brought out two desserts. A baked custard tart, Calvado soaked prunes, pistachio & maple granola and a rhubarb pecan & buttermilk pudding.
Our team of stylists created an opulent spring dining room with pops of colour glistening with our very own honeysuckle & elderflower scented candles and beautiful name cards written by the wonderfully talented Frankie from Bewilderly. With fur throws and ambient lighting setting a relaxing and warming tone to the event, we wanted to reflect the essence of our home entertaining guide.
Our home entertaining guide can be downloaded as of March 1st. Here you'll find top tips & tricks with planning, hosting, drinks, cooking, flowers and styling. Interested in downloading? You can get your freebie once you sign up to our email newsletter. Let's make you the hostess of the mostess.
