Supplier Spotlight: Clare Jones

Personable, creative and a real flower fairy, Clare Jones has worked for years in floristry and has mastered wedding and corporate florals. Find out a little bit more about the lady herself...

Hi Clare! Tell us about yourself?

Hi, I’m Clare. Florist, wife and travel enthusiast. I love spending time outdoors and being surrounded by my family and friends who always keep the biggest smile on my face!

Have you always been into floristry?

I got my first job in a florist shop at 17 as a Saturday girl and I quickly became an expert in cleaning buckets, conditioning flowers and tea making! Alongside this I learnt how to make bouquets and loved spending time with the customers. My love of flowers and floral design started here and I’ve been completely hooked ever since!

When did you start off on your own?

I started up on my own as Clare Robinson Floral Designer in 2015 and rebranded as Clare Jones Floral Design when I married my husband Rich in October 2016.

What’s your favourite flower combo?

This is a tough one but I love creating soft and romantic designs, so large blousy blooms like peonies or garden roses teamed with wispy, delicate flowers like astrantia or astilbe would have to be my favourite!

How can prospective clients get in touch with you? Do you meet at your studio or for a coffee?

Prospective clients can get in touch with me via email, my website and social media platforms. I work from my home in Cambourne, South Cambridgeshire where couples are always welcome to come and share ideas with me, I also enjoy meeting clients over a coffee when more convenient for them.

As primarily a one-women band, how do you manage your time between weddings/events?

I plan all my weddings in advance and have a brilliant team of freelance florists that I can call upon when I have large or multiple events I need help with. My best friend and fellow florist Julia (aka What the Fleur) is often on hand for my biggest events of the year.

Do you see yourself growing into a larger business?

For me I absolutely love running a small business and really getting to know all of my clients. The hands on work is what I enjoy most about my profession so it is important to me to keep my business at a manageable size where I can still spend most of my time creating rather than managing.

How is summer 2018 looking for you?

Summer 2018 is looking super busy with lots of really beautiful and exciting weddings in the pipeline, I can't wait!
